Fagedaboudit Gal aka "Farrah" is a gorgeous 7 year old Thoroughbred who is looking for a new career through the New Jersey chapter of ReRun Inc. This lovely mare has an adoption fee of $950 $475 until Valentines Day!

Farrah is ready to start re-training and with her beautiful looks could make somebody a gorgeous Dressage, Hunter or low-level Eventing partner. Let’s hear what ReRun has to say about this pretty mare:

"Farrah" was rescued from a feedlot in central NJ, but is doing just fine now! She is doing walk, trot, canter, and trotting over ground poles! She is a willing, brave, and intelligent mare who just wants to please her rider. Farrah will make a beautiful Hunter mare, low level Event horse, or even Dressage horse. She is still green, but is a very fast learner! We see wonderful things in her future! Farrah competed at the ReRun Show in Model Class and brought home a 3rd Place Ribbon! She has a sweet, affectionate personality and is looking for her new best friend! No vices and does not buck or rear. Adoption fee will increase with training."

Adoptable Retired Racehorse of The Day - Just Different - Adopted

This horse has been adopted!

Just Different aka “Different” is a gorgeous looking 6 year old Thoroughbred mare who is ready for a new career through the New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program. Different is currently located in Maryville, Ohio with the adoption fee of $200.

If you’re an experienced rider and are looking for your next riding partner, than do not over look this sweet mare! Different retired from the racetrack after 38 starts which earned her $68,737 while on the track. This super cutie retired without any vices and would be well suited to Dressage, low-level Jumping or as a pleasure riding partner.

Different needs a confident rider who can give her clear signals under saddle, she has a solid walk-trot but needs a little work on her canter yet. This lovely gal really enjoys being around humans and loves to watch the goings-on around the barn from her stall. She is a bit timid and has really come a long way since November, making her best suited for somebody who has a quiet confidence about them and is experienced in the saddle.

What Your Newly Adopted Racehorse Wants You to Know!



Farm manager for West Wind Farms in Lexington, Kentucky, Lisa Molloy shares some insight into questions that are commonly asked by reitred racehorse adopters and people who are interested in adopting a retired racehorse. Lisa isn't just the manager at West Wind Farms, she also manages and helps to re-home all of the New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program's Thoroughbreds who are at the facility.

To date, Lisa has helped to successfully place 300 horses in new homes over the past 3 years -- way to go Lisa!!


People often contact Lisa, with what she calls the 3 F's: feed, feet and field. Many retired racehorse owners (and potential owners) have the same concerns. For that reason Lisa is sharing her knowledge and insight on these main concerns. Check out this valuble read below!

Along The Way aka “Christy” is a very pretty looking 4 year old Thoroughbred filly who is looking for a new career through the New Stride Thoroughbred Adoption Society. Christy is currently located in Langley, British Columbia with the adoption fee of $750.

This super cute filly has a huge support team that helped to rehab her back from a suspensory injury and has had the best of care throughout her recovery. Christy is now starting back into some light work and there is no doubt that she’ll make somebody a fantastic pleasure mount!

Ambassador Max aka “Moose” is a handsome looking 5 year old Thoroughbred gelding who is now ready for a new career and life through the Friends of Ferdinand, Inc. racehorse adoption program. This lovely boy has been put through life’s wringer and is now looking for somebody to share his life with. Moose is currently located in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Moose has recovered from being emaciated and near death last May to being a vibrant, happy and healthy boy who is ready to take on life! Moose recently started under saddle and would make somebody a very nice low-level Dressage mount or make somebody who is looking for a pleasure mount a great partner.

This horse has been adopted!

Hit The Links aka “Links” is a handsome 9 year old Standardbred gelding who is looking for a new career through the New Vocations Racehorse Adoption Program. This lovely boy is located in Vernon, New York with the adoption fee of $300.

Links is a real trooper, this boy raced six seasons before retiring from the track. He did sustain suspensory ligament injuries over his career, but came off the track sound two years ago.

Links has been under saddle for two months and is thoroughly enjoying this new job! Links has been started over fences but needs a little more work on his canter, he is eager to please and enjoys spending time with people.

He is sound and calm, but he has just begun his retraining and we have not tested him out in many situations yet. He is still green but is a quick learner. Paintpenny was never raced, but was used as a broodmare on a breeding farm, she has produced one foal and was a great mother. This lovely gal has fantastic lines and would make somebody a very nice Hunter or show prospect.

Strength And Honor earned over $336,000 during his racing career, he won the Distorted Humor Handicap at Churchill Downs twice over his time on the racetrack. This lovely boy went on to become a hunter and is now looking for a new home due to family issues.
